Let’s keep it real here. As a mother of a toddler, I don’t have time to put on a full face every day. I always manage to get in a shower before he wakes up and can curl or straighten my hair while he plays. I may or may not be standing in the kitchen, but it gets done. However, I never leave the house without a little something on my face. On those busy mornings I throw a few products on that make me get through the day without looking haggard.
Case in point. Here is my car selfie in the evening after my 5 minute makeup. Not too bad, huh?
So here is what I use…
Okay, okay, it may seem like a lot of products, but I touch each for a few seconds and volia!
After moisturizing (which I ALWAYS do right after I get out of the shower), I put Benefits’ The Porefesional over my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Then using my it Cosmetics Essential Powder brush (that came in this set, but you can get a similar one here), I apply MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (I wear NC25 this time of year) all over my face and blend into my neck. Yes I know many of you are thinking MAC Studio Fix? Is this 1999? I know, I know, but I’ve tried a lot of different powders and keep coming back to it.
Then I move to blush. Urban Decay’s ‘Afterglow’ Powder Highlighter in Fetish is my holy grail blush as you can see from this pic. You don’t really need bronzer when you use this guy. My favorite blush brush (it Brushes for Ulta – Love Your Skin Powder/Brush) must be discontinued because it’s nearly impossible to find online. You can find a similar one here, here, here or here.
This time of year, I put a little bronzer on my nose, temples and jawline. My favorite is it Cosmetics Ombre Bronzer You can get it at Ulta, but when you order it from QVC, you get this amazing brush with it too for almost the same price! Win! Win!
Next I swoop on Urban Decay’s eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy. It has a bit of shimmer and just brightens my eyes.
Quickly brush some Benefit Gimme Brow on my brows and Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara. Add my current favorite lipstick NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil. I own at least 5 of them but the one I reach for most is Walkyrie. Give my face a once over with Urban Decay’s All Nighter to set and I’M DONE!
So this routine does not exactly make me camera ready, but to run around with my little guy, it works just fine! What does your 5 minute makeup routine look like?
